Bohol Hot Air Balloon

Enjoy a picturesque hot-air balloon flight over the Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Bohol on this 45 or 1-hour sunrise flight or afternoon flight. Experience breathtaking 360-degree views of the Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Bohol and its surrounding landscape while floating effortlessly across the sky at dawn. Transportation to and from the landing site is included.

Begin your 1-hour Chocolate Hills hot-air balloon adventure at the check-in office. Meet your pilot and crew and travel together to the launch site. Help with the set up, or simply sit back and relax as the giant hot air balloon is assembled. Then gather for a quick safety briefing before climbing aboard the basket and taking off into the sky. Glide above the picturesque Chocolate Hills for an hour and watch as the area comes to life in the early morning or late afternoon. As your marvel at extraordinary views in all directions your pilot guides the tour and explain how far and how high you are traveling. Watch the sun wake up the desert and then slowly return back to your staring point on land. After all packed up they will take you back to the check-in point, where additional souvenirs are available for purchase.
A balloon flight will take around 45 minutes. If the wind is low it could be 1 hour long. If the wind is high it might be around 35 minutes. We fly directly in the Chocolate Hills! The direction of the wind also directly influences the duration of the flight.

We fly everyday in the afternoon or it depends on the weather. The meeting time is at 15:00 in Carmen town, your hot air balloon flight can be done after you visitthe Chocolate Hills Complex for example. After your sunset flight, you will be back to Panglao or Resort.

We fly late afternoon because balloons need stable winds to operate effectively; the hours before sunset are the best for finding these winds. We can’t fly before 4 PM because of thermal activity.

Since balloons move with the air, the weather is very important in deciding whether or not to fly. If the winds are too strong or if their is a risk of rain, the pilot will cancel the flight and you can either be rescheduled for a flight another day or fully reimbursed.

You need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You might have to walk from the take off or landing site so it is better to wear clothes and shoes that allows you to walk a distance. You might have to walk in tall grass, mud, water or rocks; flying is an adventure! We also recommend that you bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat. You can bring your camera as long as you have a suitable soft case in which to stow the camera during the landing phase of the flight. We will provide cold water during the flight
